Release and Updates

Every change shipped to Mint, with the newest release at the top. Expand any version for the full notes.

Current release · v2.17.5

How updates work

Mint updates itself in‑game. Type /mintupdate in any Minecraft chat and the latest version downloads to your mods folder, then installs the next time you close the game. Run /mintupdate check first if you want to see what’s available without installing.

Updates are jump‑safe: you can go from v2.1.5 straight to v2.7.15 in a single command. Your license, settings, and saved data carry over.

Release pipeline and update delivery hardening

+

What changed

This release tightens the update path behind /mintupdate and keeps the public release marker aligned with the newest packaged build.

What you’ll notice

  • Current version marker — the website now points at the same version as the built Mint release.
  • Update readiness — the backend release manifest is expected to serve the latest version and download location used by the in‑game updater.

Two new commands — /mintrank and /mintlevel

+

What changed

Two new client‑side commands round out the identity‑customization set. /mintrank <rank> spoofs your visible Hypixel rank prefix to any rank in the game; /mintlevel <n> spoofs your SkyBlock level in the tab list, with the bracketed number rendered in SkyBlock’s real per‑tier rotating colour. Both work standalone or layered on top of /mintnick and /mintskin for a full custom identity.

What you’ll notice

  • /mintrank <rank> — pick from every Hypixel rank: VIP, VIP_PLUS, MVP, MVP_PLUS, MVP_PLUS_PLUS, YOUTUBE, MOJANG, GAME_MASTER, EVENTS, ADMIN, OWNER, HELPER, plus PIG_PLUS_PLUS_PLUS for Technoblade’s iconic [PIG+++]. Tab‑completes the full list, accepts forgiving aliases (mvp+, gm, pig), and survives a follow‑up /mintnick without being silently overwritten by your real local rank.
  • /mintlevel <0–1000> — sets the bracketed level number that appears next to your name in tab list / chat / HUD. The colour rotates per SkyBlock’s native tier system: every 40 levels the colour cycles through gray → white → yellow → gold → coral red → light purple → dark purple → blue → dark blue → aqua → dark aqua → green → dark green → black. So /mintlevel 250 renders as a dark‑purple [250]; /mintlevel 480 renders as a dark‑green [480].
  • Compose them all — /mintnick CoolDude + /mintskin Notch + /mintrank MVP_PLUS_PLUS + /mintlevel 412 = a complete client‑side identity replacement, all visible only to you, all reversible per command with stop.
  • Stop forms — /mintrank stop clears the manual rank and re‑allows /mintnick’s auto‑rank‑capture; /mintlevel stop clears just the level. Independent of one another.

Why

The rewriter engine that was already powering /mintnick and /mintskin already had the plumbing to swap rank prefixes and bracketed level numbers wherever the local player’s name appeared. These two commands surface that capability as direct user controls — no need to look up a real player whose stats you want to copy. Pick a rank, pick a level, ship it.

Server‑side

Nothing leaves your client. Hypixel’s servers, other players, and the Hypixel API never see the spoofed rank or level — the substitution happens in your local Minecraft text‑rendering pipeline. This is purely a client‑side cosmetic.

QOL features

+

What changed

Chat, tab list, HUD overlays, and item tooltips render at full framerate again on packed Hypixel lobbies with a nick set — the previous build was recompiling regex patterns every frame, which lagged the game once a lobby filled up. The same pass extends nick coverage into chest and NPC GUI titles, and makes the rank prefix following your nick load the moment your Hypixel display name arrives instead of waiting for a sub‑server hop.

What you’ll notice

  • Performance — smooth chat and tab list on Hypixel even with /mintnick active in a full lobby.
  • GUI titles — your nickname now appears in chest and NPC menu titles, including Hypixel SkyBlock’s personal stat pages.
  • Rank loads on join — setting /mintnick on the title screen no longer needs a sub‑server hop before the rank prefix shows.
  • Cleaner chat — lines that mention multiple players with the same rank no longer rewrite the wrong one.

Why

This release closes the QOL features placeholder on the public roadmap. It’s a foundational pass on the rewriter engine, so every existing /mintnick and /mintskin behaviour benefits — no new commands or settings to learn.

Plus, in 2.15.1

The mod’s entry in your in‑game Mods list (and the Fabric loader logs) now reads Mint instead of the old Tqsk’s Fishing Macro name. Cosmetic only — no behavioural change.

Polished GUI, vanilla fishing macro, smart chest auto‑empty

+

What changed

The in‑game settings panel got a complete visual overhaul. Text is sharper, shapes are smoother, the layout is denser, and the whole thing feels closer to a real desktop app than a Minecraft mod menu. A new singleplayer‑friendly fishing script joins Trophy Fishing, and a long‑requested chest auto‑empty system lets the macro keep running through full inventories.

What you’ll notice

  • Text — cleaner, bolder, easier on the eyes at every GUI scale.
  • Colours — brightened for better contrast on dark backgrounds.
  • Pills & status dot — smooth, perfectly rounded, no visible pixel staircase.
  • Header — the brand block sits properly aligned with the logo.

Regular (vanilla / singleplayer) fishing

A new Regular Fishing script joined Trophy Fishing on the Fishing tab. It’s a clean auto‑reel that works on any vanilla server, in singleplayer worlds, and on modded servers that use vanilla fishing mechanics — no Hypixel‑specific assumptions.

The two scripts are mutually exclusive — starting one auto‑stops the other so you can’t accidentally have both clicking your rod.

Storage to chest (auto‑empty during fishing)

New Storage to Chest toggle in Settings → Vanilla. With it on, Regular Fishing automatically empties drops into a nearby chest when your inventory fills up:

  • Smoothly turns to face the chest with eased camera motion (no jerky steps).
  • Opens the chest, deposits stackable drops, closes, turns back to where you were facing.
  • Resumes fishing immediately after.
  • With it off, no chest is required — the macro just runs until your inventory fills and stops.

Other notable additions

  • Best rod auto‑detection — picks the strongest fishing rod in your hotbar before casting (factoring enchantments and remaining durability).
  • Drop tracking — logs each catch into the LogViewer with its actual item name, not just “1 catch.”
  • LogViewer status integration — running/stopped state, current script, and chest‑empty events appear in the LogViewer header in real time.
  • Smoother chest rotation — one fluid sweep instead of a stack of little jumps.

Why

The previous GUI was carrying years of incremental decisions and was starting to show its seams. This release is a clean‑slate visual pass so the panel looks like it belongs alongside your other premium clients. The vanilla fishing script and storage feature were the two most‑requested items from the Discord; Trophy Fishing was always Hypixel‑specific, and Regular Fishing makes Mint useful on any server.

SOCKS5 proxy routing

+

What changed

Minecraft connections can now be routed through a SOCKS5 proxy directly inside the game — no launcher changes, no system‑wide proxy settings. Open the Multiplayer screen, click the new Proxy button in the top‑right corner, and add any SOCKS5 server: host, port, and optional username & password. Give it a label, hit Add & Enable, and every new server connection tunnels through it from that point on. Clicking Disable returns to a direct connection instantly. Multiple proxies can be saved and switched between without restarting the game.

Why

Some players are on networks where certain servers are geo‑blocked, or simply want their gaming traffic to leave from a different IP. A first‑class proxy panel built into the game means no external tools, no system proxy that drags everything else along, and credentials that are saved in your Mint config so you only type them once.

What you'll notice

A small Proxy button appears in the top‑right corner of the server‑list screen. When a proxy is active the label changes to “• [proxy name]” so you always know which proxy is live before you click Join. The tunnel handshake adds one extra round‑trip before the Minecraft connection begins; once established, latency is dictated by the proxy’s location, not by this feature.

Mobile site polish & Discord auto‑publish

+

What changed

mintmacros.com now looks right on phones — nothing gets cut off, the menu stays put, and everything scales nicely whether you’re on a phone, laptop, or 4K monitor. Sharing a link to the site in Discord, iMessage, or Slack now shows a proper preview card instead of a blank rectangle.

The Discord bot also got a new trick: whenever a new release lands on this page, it automatically posts to the #updates channel and pings the release role — usually within 10 minutes. (This entry was the first to go through it.)

Why

Before this, the site basically assumed you were on a desktop. On phones the menu got cut off and everything felt cramped. The auto‑publish bit just saves us copying release notes over to Discord by hand every time.

Log customization options

+

What changed

The LogViewer companion window can now be themed. Click the three green dots in the top‑right of its title bar and pick from five complete palettes — not just an accent swap, the whole window re‑skins (background, title bar, command input, three text shades, and accent).

  • Mint — dark slate body with the signature green accent. The default.
  • Midnight — deep purple‑black with a hot pink accent.
  • Ocean — dark navy with cyan.
  • Solar — warm cream paper with burnt amber. The only light theme.
  • Matrix — pure black with neon green text and accent.

Live theme switching

Switching is instant — no restart. Existing log lines re‑color to match the new palette (drop‑tier colors stay tier‑specific). Your choice persists across launches.

Three‑dot dropdown polish

The picker itself went through several rounds before landing on the current look:

  • Replaced the default system menu with a custom popup so the right‑edge styling matches the rest of the LogViewer — no more pale strip.
  • Rounded corners that match the main LogViewer window.
  • Each row shows a tiny preview swatch (theme body color + accent dot) and the active row is marked with an accent‑coloured checkmark.
  • “Midnight” no longer truncates — the menu and rows are sized for the longest label.
  • Click‑outside closes the dropdown automatically.

Cleaner jar naming

Build artifacts now ship as Mint-X.Y.Z.jar and Mint-X.Y.Z-LogViewer.jar, matching the in‑game brand. /mintupdate handles installs and any older naming on disk transparently — nothing for you to clean up by hand.

BETA | 2.7.8

Splash screen update

+

What changed

The MINT splash animation that played during Minecraft’s loading sequence has been removed. You’ll see the standard vanilla loading bar instead.

Why

It was cosmetic, and it caused launch failures for some users on Feather, custom JREs, and non‑standard launchers. Removing it makes startup slightly faster and gets rid of that whole class of bug report.

BETA | 2.7.7

Stronger account check to stop license sharing

+

What changed

When Mint starts, it now checks your Minecraft account ID from three different places to make sure they all match. If any of them disagree, it stops and tells you why.

Why

Some account‑swapping tools were tricking the old check by changing just one of those values, which let people share a single license across accounts. This closes that loophole.

What you’ll see if it triggers

A chat message: “License invalid for this account — account check mismatch — possible account spoof. The macro will refuse to start.”

What to do

If you’ve genuinely moved to a new Minecraft account, you’ll need a new license — each one is tied to a single account and PC. Get in touch and we’ll sort it out.

If you’re on the same account but still seeing this, it’s usually your launcher. Feather, Lunar’s alt manager, and a few others sometimes rewrite your account info. Your launcher log will have a line starting with [LIC] account mismatch showing what didn’t match — send that to us.

BETA | 2.7.6

Update installer is more reliable and saves logs you can send us

+

What changed

The little helper that finishes installing /mintupdate after you close Minecraft got a few fixes:

  • Waits 4 seconds before swapping in the new file (was 2) so slower PCs and heavy modpacks have enough time to fully close.
  • Stops trying after 60 tries instead of forever — no more leftover processes hanging around.
  • Every install attempt now saves a log to your temp folder. Look for mint-update-<timestamp>.log inside %TEMP%.

Why

Some people were running /mintupdate, seeing “Update staged,” and finding nothing had actually changed. Now updates either install cleanly or leave a log you can send us so we can see what went wrong.

If an update doesn’t install

Your launcher log will warn you next time you launch: “leftover .new file(s) in mods folder — previous /mintupdate swap probably failed.” Open %TEMP%, grab the most recent mint-update-*.log, and the step that failed will be in there.

The usual suspects

  • Antivirus blocked the installer. The log will show a permission error.
  • Your mods folder is in a protected spot like Program Files. Move your instance to a regular user folder.
  • Minecraft didn’t close properly (usually after a crash). Just run /mintupdate again next session.
BETA | 2.7.5

License now checks in every few seconds and on every server join

+

What changed

The license check used to happen once when the game started. Now it also runs:

  • Every time you join any server.
  • Every 5 seconds in the background, in case something changes mid‑session.
  • Whenever your status flips between valid and invalid — chat tells you either way.

Why

If your license is real, you won’t notice a thing. If someone tries to swap to an unlicensed account while playing, Mint catches it within a few seconds and stops the macro.

What you’ll see when joining a server

  • “License verified — press <key> to open the Mint menu.” — you’re good to go.
  • “License invalid for this account — <reason>. The macro will refuse to start.” — the reason explains what didn’t match.

Will this slow my game down?

No. The 5‑second check happens entirely on your PC (no internet calls) and barely uses any CPU. The server‑join check fires once per join.

BETA | 2.7.4

Mint keybinds moved to their own Controls section, chat hints reflect your binding

+

What changed

Two things:

  • Mint keybinds (Toggle Macro, Open Menu) now live in their own “Mint” section under Options → Controls → Key Binds, instead of being mixed into “Misc.”
  • The chat hint that prompts you to open the Mint menu now shows your actual binding. If you rebound it to G, it says G.

Default keybinds

  • F6 — Toggle the macro on/off
  • L — Open the Mint menu

How to rebind

Esc → Options → Controls → Key Binds → scroll to “Mint” → click the button next to whichever bind you want to change. Same flow as any vanilla rebind. Mouse buttons work too.

“Why does my chat say a different key now?”

Because you (or your launcher’s preset) rebound it. The hint shows whatever’s currently mapped, not the default.

BETA | 2.7.3

LogViewer auto‑launches with every Minecraft launcher

+

What changed

The LogViewer companion window now starts automatically with Minecraft regardless of launcher — vanilla, Modrinth, Prism, MultiMC, Feather, ATLauncher. Previously it only worked on a narrow set of setups.

Why

LogViewer is the side window that shows your live stats — catches per hour, session time, last fish — and lets you remote‑control the macro. If it didn’t auto‑launch, you had to start it from a terminal.

How to use it

Drop Mint-X.Y.Z-LogViewer.jar into the same mods/ folder as your main Mint jar. Launch Minecraft normally and LogViewer opens beside the game.

Once it’s open you can type:

  • /start — start the macro from outside the game
  • /stop — stop it
  • /timer 30 — start it and have it stop itself after 30 minutes

If LogViewer doesn’t open

Check your launcher log for LogViewer JAR not found. Almost always it means only the main jar is installed — both jars need to be in your mods folder.

BETA | 2.7.2

Empty‑box menu text bug fixed

+

What changed

Mint’s font files were renamed to all lowercase, and the matching settings were updated.

Why

If you opened the Mint menu and saw a wall of empty boxes instead of text, this was the cause. Minecraft 1.21.10 quietly refuses to load font files whose names have capital letters, which broke the whole menu for anyone on a fresh install. Renaming them fixes it.

Were you affected?

Fresh installs got hit the hardest. Older installs sometimes looked fine until a clean reinstall — then suddenly the empty boxes appeared.

How to confirm the fix

Open the Mint menu (default L). You should see proper text now. If you’re still seeing boxes after v2.7.2, check your launcher log for Unable to load font and send us the exact message.

BETA | 2.7.1

Lighter on memory, with a vanilla‑font fallback for older PCs

+

What changed

  • The font detail level was dropped down. Looks identical at normal menu scales but uses about 16× less video memory.
  • Minecraft’s default font is now set as a backup. If our custom font fails to load for any reason, you’ll just see plain Minecraft text instead of empty boxes.

Why

On older laptops and integrated graphics chips, the previous setting could run out of video memory and text would refuse to draw. The new setting fits even on the lowest‑spec hardware we’ve seen.

Will the text look worse?

No. At normal Minecraft menu scales you can’t tell the difference. The old setting was overkill.

BETA | 2.2.0 – 2.2.1

Trophy Fishing now requires you to be on the Crimson Isle

+

What changed

If you try to start Trophy Fishing anywhere other than the Crimson Isle, Mint stops you with a chat message instead of letting you cast. Mint reads Hypixel’s sidebar to detect your location and recognises every Crimson sub‑area: The Bastion, Mage Outpost, Wither Barracks, Scarleton, Forgotten Skull, Blazing Volcano, Sulphur Pools, Belly of the Beast, Smouldering Tomb, Dragontail, Mudhole, Stronghold, Burning Desert, Kuudra instances, and Ember Hollow.

Two smaller things: GUI text is 1 pt smaller across body, descriptions, and titles. The settings GUI auto‑closes when an error fires so you can see what went wrong.

Why

Trophy Fishing only works on the Crimson Isle. Without this check, you could leave Mint running on the wrong island and come back to nothing.

What you’ll see

Press F6 outside the Crimson Isle and chat replies: “Trophy Fishing only works in the Crimson Isle. Warp there first (try /warp crimson) and run the macro again.”

If it incorrectly says you’re not on Crimson

This sometimes happens for a moment right after you warp, before Hypixel’s scoreboard loads. Wait 2–3 seconds and press F6 again.

If you’re in a brand‑new Hypixel area we haven’t catalogued yet, send us the launcher log line beginning [Location] Crimson Isle check failed. Sidebar was: — that gives us the exact text Hypixel is showing so we can add it.

BETA | 2.1.5 – 2.1.7

One‑command updates with /mintupdate

+

What changed

/mintupdate downloads and installs the latest Mint with a single chat command — no more swapping jar files by hand.

/mintupdate check tells you what’s available without installing anything.

The install step now happens silently in the background after you close Minecraft — no command prompt window pops up anymore.

How an update works, start to finish

  • You type /mintupdate in chat.
  • Mint checks if there’s a newer version available.
  • If there is, the new file downloads to your mods folder under a temporary name so it doesn’t clash with the version you’re still running.
  • A small helper queues itself to take over once Minecraft closes.
  • You close Minecraft normally.
  • The helper waits a moment for the old file to be free, deletes it, and renames the new one into place.
  • Next time you launch, you’re on the new version.

Skipping versions is totally fine

You can be on v2.1.5 and jump straight to v2.7.15 in one go — no need to install everything in between. Your settings, license, and saved data come along for the ride.

Forgiving file naming

Mint will find its installed file no matter how you’ve renamed it — Mint-*.jar, mint-latest.jar, capital letters, lowercase — all of it works. Manual installs are fine too.
