Steady Fishing
Steady Fishing is the calmer, no-frills script — built for vanilla servers, custom maps, and any time you just want a clean cast-and-reel loop without the anti-detection scaffolding Trophy ships with.
When to use Steady over Trophy
- Vanilla & non-Hypixel servers — private servers, realms, friends’ servers, or solo single-player. Trophy’s location gates would refuse to start; Steady doesn’t care where you are.
- You want loot, not raw output — Steady is tuned around catching everything the rod returns (fish, treasure, junk) and routing it cleanly into storage. Trophy is tuned around speed and timing on the Crimson Isle specifically.
- You don’t need detection avoidance — on servers where staff isn’t hunting macros, the extra jitter and timing variance is wasted overhead. Steady runs lean.
How to use it
- Stand by any water with line of sight to where you want to cast.
- Equip your fishing rod in any hotbar slot (Mint will pick the best one automatically — see below).
- Optional: place a chest within a few blocks if you want auto-storage.
- Press F6 to start.
- Walk away. Mint handles the rest.
Best-rod auto-detection
At session start Mint scans your full inventory — not just the hotbar — and picks the best rod by a weighted score:
- Lure — +100 per level (faster bites)
- Luck of the Sea — +100 per level (better drop tables)
- Mending — +200 if present (rod self-repairs)
- Unbreaking — +50 per level (longer-lasting rod)
- Remaining durability — small tiebreak among otherwise-equal rods
The selection happens once at startup. If your rod runs out of durability mid-session, Mint will halt — carry a backup (preferably with Mending or Unbreaking III+) so a single break doesn’t cost you the run.
Storage — auto-empty to a nearby chest
When inventory pressure builds up, Steady can offload the fish, treasure, and junk into a chest you’ve placed nearby, then come back and keep fishing. Drop tracking is built in: every reel diffs your inventory before vs. after and writes the new items to the log so you have a running tally of what the session caught.
How chest auto-detect works
- Mint scans within 5 blocks of where you started fishing for any of: regular chest, double chest, trapped chest, barrel, shulker box, or ender chest.
- If multiple containers are in range, the closest one wins.
- If Storage to Chest is on (default) and no container is in range, Steady refuses to start — place a chest closer or toggle Storage off to fish without it.
- If Storage to Chest is off, no chest is required and Steady just casts/reels indefinitely.
How the storage step runs
- Reel completes; drop diff captured and logged.
- If your hotbar / main inventory is past the configured fullness threshold, Steady walks (or rotates & reaches) to the chest.
- Opens the chest, deposits everything except the rod and any items you’ve marked as keep-in-inventory.
- Closes the chest, returns to your fishing spot, casts again.
The whole storage cycle is timed to look human — no instant teleports, no impossible reach, configurable jitter on the open/close timing.
Don’t want auto-empty? Toggle Storage to Chest off in Settings → Vanilla. Steady will then ignore chests entirely and just cast and reel forever, leaving inventory management to you.
What runs under the hood
- Plain auto-reel — bobber-velocity bite detection (same as Trophy), no jitter or timing variance. Faster end-to-end loop than Trophy because there’s no anti-detection delay.
- Drop tracking — inventory snapshot before each cast, diff ~600 ms after each reel. New items are written to the log by name so you have a running catch tally per session.
- Status logging — every step (rod selection, cast, reel, drop diff, storage trips) streams to the LogViewer as a timestamped [REG] entry.
- Mutex with Trophy — you can only run one fishing script at a time. Starting Steady while Trophy is running auto-stops Trophy first, and vice versa.
