Troubleshooting & FAQ
The questions and issues that hit our support inbox most often, with one-line fixes wherever possible. If your problem isn’t covered here, the support channel on our Discord will get a faster answer than email.
Common issues
“Mint says I’m not on the Crimson Isle” (but I am)
Hypixel’s scoreboard takes 1–3 seconds to populate after warping. Wait a moment and press F6 again. Mint reads the scoreboard’s location text — once it loads, the location gate clears.
Key activation failed
Most likely a hardware or Minecraft-account mismatch. Mint binds your key to your Minecraft UUID and machine HWID on first activation. If either changed (new computer, different MC account), the key won’t re-activate automatically. Open a support ticket on the Discord with your key and we’ll clear the binding manually.
GUI won’t open with F6
- Another mod or Minecraft control might be bound to F6. Check Options → Controls → Key Binds and look for conflicts.
- Confirm Mint actually loaded: open the F3 debug screen and look for fishingmacro in the loaded mods list.
Macro starts but nothing happens
- Trophy: you’re not on the Crimson Isle. Move there.
- Steady: no rod found anywhere in your inventory. Mint scans the full inventory but you do need at least one rod somewhere.
Auto-sell isn’t working
Auto-sell uses Hypixel’s bazaar via NPC visit. Make sure you’re in a location with bazaar access (most spawn islands have it). It won’t work on private/non-Hypixel servers — they don’t have a bazaar.
Auto-filet isn’t working
Auto-filet calls /call odger then runs /massfilet. Both are SkyBlock-only commands. On non-SkyBlock servers, leave Auto-filet off — the commands will fail silently or trigger anti-cheat.
Storage to chest isn’t working (Steady)
- No chest within ~5 blocks of where you started fishing. Place one closer.
- Line of sight is blocked between you and the chest. Mint won’t path through walls or under glass.
- Chest is locked / inaccessible. Open it manually first to confirm you can use it.
Rod keeps breaking and the macro halts
Mint picks the best rod from your inventory once at session start — it does not auto-swap mid-session if that rod breaks. Carry a backup with Mending (rod self-repairs from XP, +200 to selection score) or high Unbreaking (each level adds +50 to selection score) so a single break doesn’t cost you the run.
Performance / lag
- If lots of detail-level entries are streaming through the LogViewer, try reducing log verbosity in Settings → Colors.
- Mint itself uses very little CPU. If your game is lagging, it’s likely a Minecraft / system issue independent of Mint.
/mintupdate says no update available
The update check polls a CDN that caches for ~5 minutes. Wait a moment and try again. If it persists, restart the game — the update manifest reloads on launch.
Macro stops mid-session
Three usual causes:
- The server kicked you (idle, AFK, or anti-cheat trigger). Settings → Reconnect handles this if Auto-Reconnect is enabled.
- Your inventory filled up and storage couldn’t keep up. Check the log for “inventory full” entries.
- All your rods broke. See “Rod keeps breaking” above.
Auto-Reconnect isn’t reconnecting
- Confirm Auto-Reconnect is toggled on in Settings → Reconnect.
- Check the Server Address is right (default mc.hypixel.net:25565).
- Some VPNs/proxies interfere with the reconnect handshake. Try direct first to confirm the macro works without a proxy, then re-enable.
Proxy connects but Hypixel rejects me
Some proxies (especially free datacenter ones) are on Hypixel’s VPN/datacenter blocklist. Try a residential proxy or a different provider. See the Proxy setup page for full details.
FAQ
Can I get banned for using Mint?
Macros are against Hypixel’s TOS, full stop. Mint’s anti-detection features (camera jitter, bobber-velocity bite detection over pixel scanning, location gating) make it harder to detect than naive macros, but no macro is risk-free. Use at your own discretion.
Does it work on Bedrock Edition?
No — Java Edition only. Mint is built on Fabric, which only exists for Java.
What Minecraft versions are supported?
Currently 1.21.10 via Fabric loader 0.15+. Older versions aren’t supported. We typically port to a new MC version within a week or two of its release.
Can I move my license to a new computer?
Open a support ticket on the Discord with your key. We clear the HWID binding manually after verifying you’re the original purchaser. There’s no self-service rebind because that would defeat the bind protection.
Can I get a refund?
We follow standard digital-goods policy: refunds are available within a window if the product is defective or wasn’t delivered. We don’t refund “changed my mind” — please make sure Mint fits your use case before purchase. Open a ticket if you have a specific issue.
Is Mint open source?
No. Mint’s source is closed and the released JAR is obfuscated. The license verification flow is documented in How keys work if you want to understand what gets sent.
Why does Mint need internet?
Two reasons:
- License verification on first launch (one quick call, then offline-cached — subsequent launches don’t need internet).
- /mintupdate checks for new versions when you run it.
The macro itself runs entirely locally. No telemetry, no remote control, no analytics.
What is “Mint+”?
A premium tier on the roadmap. Details coming when it ships. The current $6 license is permanent and gets all the base updates regardless of what Mint+ ends up being.
Can I use Mint on multiple Minecraft accounts?
The license is bound to your Minecraft UUID on first activation. If you swap accounts, the macro will refuse to start. Open a ticket if you need to swap permanently — we’ll clear the binding so you can re-activate.
Will my session stats carry between launches?
Session stats reset on each macro start (because each session is, well, its own session). For long-term tracking, the LogViewer keeps a persistent log file you can export.
Where are my config and logs stored?
- Config: .minecraft/config/fishingmacro.json
- License: .minecraft/config/mintmacros-license.json
- Logs: streamed to the LogViewer; persistent log file in the Mint data folder.
Open a ticket on the Mint Discord. Include your key, your MC version, and a screenshot or log if relevant — we’ll get back to you fast.
